EVALUATION QUESTION 3; What have you learnt from audience feedback?

To generate audience feedback, i used the more mordern technology of social networking with sites such as twitter and facebook, and i also used the more traditional way of conducting reasearch with questionnares.
Throughout these conductions of evaluation i learned many opinions on my media products , the trailer, megazine cover and film poster.
100% of people asked said that they could clearly understand the main narrative of the trailer which is an extremely important factor when coveying a film idea to an audience. Many people also commented on the use of varied shots, the panning ones in particuler as very good saying that they helped continue the physicological horror feel.
40% of the audience could see the film noir inspiration without being asked about this. Areas of improvment that was suggested to me by the audience for the trailer was that idea that we could have put intertitles to reinforce the facts the narrative voice was saying, however when we changed this, the audience then said that the it was an unnessicary feature of the trailer.
Some of the audience also commented on the fact that the trailer was too slow for a traditional horror film, to improve this we added more cross cutting and extra scenes, which sped it up. However we did not want a fast paced trailer as we were trying to portray a physcological horror with creepness as the main scare factor rather than a violent horror.
The music was a favourite throuhgout the audience feedback in which audience suggested the music added an extra scare factor which was what we were trying to create.
With the magazine cover, the majority of the 16-24 year age audience said it was professional looking and the photograph portrayed the narrative very well. the age rang of 24-30 less people said this and said that from the magazine cover the film looked 'not to thier interest' suggesting that the age range for this film was 16-24. People enjoyed the colour scheme that i used throughout all 3 of my media products as they tied in as well as fitting conventions of that type of media product. The audience said that in my poster a picture of the girl included could have been a nice feature however , the same audience also said that the picture create a creepy feel aswell as portraying the nature of the film very well.

FINAL MEDIA TRAILER

FINAL MAGAZINE COVER

This is my final magazine cover. I also followed the convention of a magazine here aswell as following the conventions of horro genre associated media. The use of colours such as reds, greens and blacks tells the audience that this is a horror magazine, as these colours are closely linked with the horror genre. I followed the conventions of a magazine with the use of the mast heads, sub headings, main image and features of what are inside of this magazine.I kept the main image dark in order to portray the feeling of darkness and scare involved in the film that this magazine is attempting to promote.

FINAL POSTER

Here is my final design of my poster. It includes all the genre conventions i picked up on during my research for example, the dark background is a true convention of a horror poster as well is the use of red symbolising danger, blood and warnings. I challenged the conventions by adding blue, which is usually associated with a cool feeling of ease and tranquility , however here it can be directly linked with the use of the social networking site. I also kept the poster relitively simple which i noticed was a common theme amongst posters of a horror film.

Rough draft of poster and magazine

I created a mock up of what i would like my poster and magazine cover to look like in the end. I followed my ideas from the brainstorms which i created once i had analysed many magazines and poster that followed the same genre and idea that they are aimed at a film based audience.

poster idea.

i will aim to get audience feedback on these and improvents will be made before i produce the final piece.

Trailer story board and animation

We created a story board in which we used to create the stills for our film , in this we included the aspects of mise en scene that we would like to use for our film and character actions. We then used the story board to create a short animation to make a 'mock' off the trailer we would later create. It is included below.

Shooting Schedule

This is the shooting schedule we aim to follow whilst filming our trailer. This will help us reach targets and stay on track whilst the making of the film.

Filming consent forms

We created consent forms and wrote  to the council in order to get permission for shooting our films in public loactions and for the actor to be in our film in order to comit to the filming, almost like a contract. This type of precedure would have had to be carried out in a real life filming environment.
